Vidyarambam - Introducing the child in the process of learning

Vidyarambam is a traditional ceremony, which introduces young children into the world of knowledge, letters, and the process of learning. It is exclusively designed for children to begin their education and brings forth the wealth of true knowledge. One of several rituals to benefit the growth and well-being of the child, this can be scheduled on any day at the Linga Bhairavi temple.

This year, over 200 children took part in this ceremony at Linga Bhairavi Temple on Vijayadashami, the last day of the Navaratri festival. Traditionally this day is considered to be a very auspicious day for any commencement of education, more so with art, dance and music. This is the first time the Vidyarambam was conducted for such a large group of people.

Various offerings and rituals are conducted in the temple to allow devotees to benefit from the Devi’s abundant Grace. The temple offers unique rituals that assist in every step that one takes in one’s life, from birth to death, to everything in-between. These rituals are designed to ensure that every life situation becomes a possibility to be touched by the Divine. Particular rituals can be performed to fulfill one’s desires, needs, and ambitions, or address specific problems in one’s life.
